Columbia, Missouri

Free-Standing Rondelles:  The American Legion medallion is all over the country, in more places than cemeteries. But, it would be difficult to find a cemetery anywhere that does not have some reminder of the Legion's ubiquitous efforts to acknowledge the sacrifices of those killed in action, such as this 28 year old who lost his life in the Great War. Could the Legion have provided the headstone as well? It does not suggest a 1918 vintage. Millersburg Cemetery at Heritage Baptist Church. [2015]
